The World Hates Shalese Day

Have you ever experienced those days when you wake up and everything just goes downhill from there? Do you feel like the whole world got together while you were sleeping and unanimously decided to gang up on you? You know that it was safer to stay in bed than to risk actually walking out of your bedroom? Yeah . . . I thought so. That way my day today. Luckily, the Lord blessed me with a sense of humor today, so the things that normally would have made me cry, I actually thought were freaking hilarious.
OK, so here is the low-down on my adventures that took place today:
So the night before, I went to sleep rather late at night. I had been studying for finals all day and I was just getting in that last little bit before my test at 8 in the morning. (Yep, 8 am. Do you think that's ridiculously early in the morning too? So do I!) My plan was to wake up at 7 to do some last minute studying. My roommate came in at 7:40 and said it was time to go. Luckily, I had 4 years of drill team training under my belt and I was ready within 10 minutes. So we speed walk to the JSB and I endure an hour + of hand cramping, short answer questions. YES! One test down and only 3 more to go and it was only the 1st day of official finals! So, as I walk out of the JSB feeling extremely elated and, too be honest, a little bit goofy, my roommate and I decide to make an actual breakfast. We were going to make chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and hashbrowns. So I invited a guy from my New Testament class (which was the final that we had just taken) to come have some food, and being a guy of course he agreed. So Hil and I rush to get things together and in my haste, I was a little too enthusiastic about opening the chocolate chips. They EXPLODED and went EVERYWHERE! I just stood there with the wrappings in my hands for about 5 minutes while my laughing roommates cleaned up around me. Then, as I began to pour the pancake batter on the skillet, I realize something: I just made waffle batter . . . not pancake batter. My roommates laugh hysterically again when I tell them and we decide to just go with it anyway. As I start making the first pancake/waffle, I got a little too excited (again) over the fact that I was actually cooking . . . and soon enough I had burnt the 1st pancake/waffle. My loving roommates gladly took the reigns from me as I sat on the couch, a safe distance away from the food.
My roommate's surveillance of me did not last long enough. Later, when I had finished my dinner and my roommates were kindly finishing up the dishes for me, (because I could not open the dishwasher in the first place) they opened up a cupboard only to find my gallon of milk that I had gotten our 20 minutes earlier for a drink. Needless to say I couldn't breathe for the next 10 minutes from laughing so hard.
I thought my day was done. I was totally willing to accept the fact that my clumsiness and extra absentmindedness was due to the fact that it is finals week. But no, the world could not even let me have that much. The world had to add insult to injury. After Hil and I had gone to get shakes at the creamery (which we stood in line for, for about 20 minutes out the door) I was eating my Earnestly Chocolate with delight. Pretty soon, however, I discovered an odd, funky taste that did not match up with the sweet chocolate and caramel taste. I look down only to find chunks of Styrofoam swimming alongside the caramel cups. Yes, that's right, I had just eaten Styrofoam.
To say the least, my day has been very eventful and not at all dull. I have come to terms with the fact that I am an abnormally clumsy person for a dancer and I must have smashed a mirror or something. . . however, the good news is: tomorrow is Love Shalese Day! YAY!!!
